Giorgio Armani, testimonial dresser at the 85th Annual Academy Awards
Giorgio Armani dressed select nominees, presenters and attendees at the 85th Annual Academy Awards, as well as guests at various events surrounding the Oscars. The show took place on Sunday evening, February 24th at the Dolby Theatre in Hollywood. The Oscars were broadcasted live on ABC at 8:30pm ET/ 5:30pm PT.
Nominee Jessica Chastain wore a custom Giorgio Armani copper-toned silk satin strapless gown. The mermaid silhouette is highlighted by a fitted bodice and abbreviated train. The dress features a geometric, lattice-patterned mesh overlay of shimmering white sequins and Swarovski crystals. Chastain is nominated for Best Actress in a Leading Role for her work in “Zero Dark Thirty.”
Nominee Naomi Watts wore a custom Giorgio Armani gown fully enveloped in layered gunmetal grey sequins. The other worldly gown features galactic cap sleeves and an abstract triangle cut out in the front. The fitted bodice cascades into a slightly pooling train creating an architectural silhouette. Watts is nominated for Best Actress in a Leading Role for her work in “The Impossible.”
Nominee Quvenzhane Wallis is the youngest actress to ever receive a nomination for Best Actress in a Leading Role for her performance in “Beasts of the Southern Wild.” For this seminal red carpet moment, Giorgio Armani has collaborated with the young actress to produce two custom Armani Junior gowns. Outfitting Wallis marks Giorgio Armani’s first red carpet appearance featuring his Armani Junior collection. She will wear a custom midnight blue gown, encrusted with iridescent black, navy and silver jewels scattered across the multi-layered tulle skirt. The back of the dress is accentuated with a large black and navy tulle bow that billows into the voluminous skirt, creating an ethereal effect. For the Oscar after parties, she wore a custom soft pink gown featuring iridescent rhinestones circling the bodice and cascading in embellished stripes down the multi-layered full tulle skirt. The gown also features wide tulle shoulder straps and a sequined rosette accentuating the waistline.
Nominee Anne Hathaway made a special Oscar performance wearing a custom Giorgio Armani beige-hued silk mesh gown. The shimmering ethereal dress features multiple cascading tiers that are detailed with scattered rhinestones clustering around soft blue-dipped edges, creating a diaphanous, romantic silhouette. Hathaway was nominated for Best Actress in a Supporting Role for her work in “Les Miserables.”
Nominee Denzel Washington wore a Giorgio Armani black two-button notch lapel tuxedo with a classic evening shirt and a bow tie. He is nominated for Best Actor in a Leading Role for his work in “Flight.”
Nominee Robert De Niro wore a Giorgio Armani Made to Measure midnight blue one-button grosgrain peak lapel tuxedo. His look was completed with a classic evening shirt and a midnight blue bow tie. He was nominated for Best Actor in a Supporting Role for his work in “Silver Linings Playbook.”
Nominee and presenter George Clooney wore a classic Giorgio Armani tuxedo. He is an executive producer of the film “Argo,” which was nominated for Best Picture.
Pulitzer Prize-winning writer Tony Kushner wore a Giorgio Armani two-button peak lapel tuxedo with a classic evening shirt and a bow tie. He was nominated for Best Adapted Screenplay for the film “Lincoln.”
Nominee Paco Delgado wore a Giorgio Armani two-button peak lapel tuxedo with a black evening shirt and a black bow tie. He was nominated for Best Costume Design for his work in “Les Miserables.”

Presenter Samuel Jackson wore a Giorgio Armani Made to Measure two-button shawl collar ruby red velvet jacket with deep brown grosgrain trim. The outfit was completed with deep brown evening pants, a steel grey silk Mandarin collar evening shirt and a deep brown grosgrain bow tie.
Presenter Robert Downey Jr. wore a Giorgio Armani black jersey two-button peak lapel tuxedo with a black evening shirt and a black neck tie.
Presenter Russell Crowe wore a Giorgio Armani two-button notch lapel tuxedo with a classic evening shirt and a black bow tie. Crowe stars in the multi-nominated film “Les Miserables.”
Presenter Richard Gere wore a Giorgio Armani two-button notch lapel tuxedo with a classic white evening shirt and a black neck tie.
Presenter Mark Wahlberg wore a Giorgio Armani midnight blue two-button notch lapel tuxedo with a classic white evening shirt and a midnight blue bow tie.

Actress Kristen Chenoweth wore a custom Giorgio Armani black velvet strapless dress. The dramatic gown is accentuated by a soft pink chiffon train that billows out of the fitted black velvet bodice emphasizing the full skirt.
Rosemarie DeWitt, who stars in “Promised Land,” wore a Giorgio Armani classic black jersey strapless gown. The dress features a low V in the back and a fitted bodice that falls into a pooling train.
British actress Tamsin Egerton wore a Giorgio Armani deep blue organza gown, dramatically accented with chiffon cap sleeves and a rigid tailored skirt, giving the illusion of a column silhouette.
Singer-songwriter Skylar Grey wore a Giorgio Armani charcoal grey jersey gown that features a low back, accented with a cascading ruffle, creating a sleek silhouette with a slightly bustling train.
Ian Somerhalder, one of the stars of the CW series “Vampire Diaries,” wore an Emporio Armani one-button shawl collar tuxedo with a classic evening shirt and a bow tie.
Paul Wesley, co-star of CW series “Vampire Diaries,” wore an Emporio Armani two-button peak lapel tuxedo with a classic evening shirt and a neck tie.

Siamo lieti di annunciare che Giorgio Armani e Luxottica hanno celebrato la loro partnership e il lancio delle nuove collezioni Eyewear Primavera/Estate 2013 con un evento esclusivo che si è svolto presso l’Armani/Teatro a Milano.
I numerosi ospiti internazionali hanno potuto vedere in anteprima le nuove collezioni eyewear Giorgio Armani ed Emporio Armani e hanno potuto vivere alcuni dei passaggi chiave nel processo manifatturiero, grazie alla presenza di artigiani Luxottica che hanno dimostrato, con grande maestria, la grande attenzione ai dettagli richiesta per la produzione di ogni occhiale.
La serata è proseguita con il live music set delle gemelle scandinave “Say Lou Lou” e dell’attrice e DJ Chelsea Leyland.
Tra i numerosi ospiti presenti all’evento, la famosa artista e cantante Fergie, l’attrice spagnola Blanca Suarez, l’attrice francese Lou Lesage, l’attrice tedesca Aylin Tezel.
