GIORGIO ARMANI TO DRESS EMMY AWARDS PARTICIPANTS

September 18, 2011, LOS ANGELES, CA – Giorgio Armani will dress selected nominees, presenters and attendees at the 63^rd Annual Primetime Emmy Awards. The awards show will be broadcast live on FOX Television Sunday evening at 8pm ET/5pm PT, September 18, 2011 from the Nokia Theatre in Los Angeles.

Julianna Margulies, Best Actress nominee for her starring role in the CBS drama, “The Good Wife,” will wear a Giorgio Armani Privé white, luminous silk gown. The dress features a structured crescent-shaped bustier, embellished with dramatic, transparent oval stones, iridescent paillettes, and a high back slit.

Padma Lakshmi, host of the Bravo nominated show “Top Chef,” will wear a shimmering bronze satin Giorgio Armani Privé gown that features a classic mermaid silhouette and diaphanous train. The neckline is highlighted with a criss-crossed, contrasting chiffon border that encircles the back with a single strap and cascades into the train.  The dress also features a high front slit and dramatic plunging back.

Presenter Rachael Taylor, who is starring in ABC’s new fall show “Charlie’s Angels,”  has selected a Giorgio Armani soft pink and silver beaded column dress that features patterns of iridescent pink sequins, accented by bursts of silver beaded fringe.  The gown, from the 2011 Giorgio Armani Fall/Winter Collection, has a corseted, strapless neckline and bowed back.

Jon Stewart, host of Comedy Central’s “The Daily Show with Jon Stewart,” will wear a Giorgio Armani two-button notch lapel tuxedo with a classic evening shirt and a black neck tie. The Comedy Central series is nominated in the category of Outstanding Variety, Music or Comedy Series.

Brian F. O’Byrne will wear a Giorgio Armani two-button notch lapel tuxedo with a classic evening shirt and a bow tie. He is nominated in the category of Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Miniseries or a Movie for his performance in the HBO miniseries, “Mildred Pierce.”

Idris Elba has selected to wear a Giorgio Armani two-button notch lapel tuxedo with a classic evening shirt and a black neck tie. Elba is nominated for Outstanding Lead Actor in a Miniseries or a Movie for the BBC America series “Luther,” and Outstanding Guest Actor in a Comedy Series for his work in Showtime’s “The Big C.”

Mark Wahlberg, executive producer of the multi-nominated HBO series “Boardwalk Empire,” will wear a Giorgio Armani midnight blue two-button notch lapel tuxedo with a classic evening shirt and a midnight blue bow tie.

Ian Somerhalder, star of the CW’s “The Vampire Diaries,” will be a presenter at the awards and wear an Emporio Armani one-button shawl collar tuxedo with a classic evening shirt and a bow tie.

Harry Shum Jr. will wear an Emporio Armani notched lapel tuxedo with detailing on the lapels. He will complete the outfit with a classic evening shirt and a bow tie. Shum stars in the multi-nominated Fox series “Glee.”

Jay R. Ferguson will wear a Giorgio Armani two-button peak lapel black suit with a classic shirt and a black neck tie. Ferguson is in the acting ensemble of the AMC series, “Mad Men.”

Michael B. Jordan will be a presenter and has selected an Emporio Armani two-button peak lapel tuxedo with a classic evening shirt and a black neck tie. Jordan stars in the NBC nominated series, “Friday Night Lights.”

The Canadian Tenors will perform their hit song “Hallelujah” during the show and will wear selections from the Emporio Armani collection.

Producer Matthew Weiner has selected a Giorgio Armani two-button notch lapel tuxedo with a classic evening shirt and a black bow tie. Weiner is creator and executive producer of the AMC series “Mad Men.”

Steve Levinson will wear a Giorgio Armani two-button notch lapel tuxedo with a classic white evening shirt and a bow tie. Levinson is an executive producer of the HBO series “Boardwalk Empire,” which has received multiple nominations.
